Promising forward Osi opened the scoring in the 8th minute, before doubling the lead nine minutes later from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box. Osi completed a superb first-half hat-trick in the 41st minute, capitalising on a poor back pass to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and calmly slot home. Rangers maintained their intensity after the break, turning the contest into a goal fest. Saviour punished Onyimotor’s shaky defence to make it 4–0, before converting a penalty in the 54th minute for his second goal of the game. Akpos Ogoli added his name to the scoresheet in the 52nd minute, while Saviour completed his hat-trick moments later to extend the lead further. The goals kept coming as Ushi Stephen and Abbobey Christian both scored from the spot in the 60th and 63rd minutes respectively. Christian later grabbed his second goal of the match in the 70th minute to make it 9–0. Substitute Okonkwo Chukwuebuka struck twice in quick succession in the 74th and 85th minutes, while Onyimotor’s misery was compounded by an 81st-minute own goal, pushing the tally to 12–0. The rout was completed late on as Owen scored twice in stoppage time, in the 90th and 91st minutes, sealing a comprehensive 14–0 victory for the Young Antelopes. The emphatic win underlined Rangers U-19’s readiness and attacking depth as preparations continue for their upcoming international challenge in Italy.
